Lesson 2 of 2

Getting Started: Your AI Action Checklist

You don't need to become an AI engineer to benefit from this technology. The greatest gains will come from regular employees who quietly learn to use AI as a daily assistant. Here's your practical action plan.

✅ AI Starter Checklist for Employees

Small steps to start using AI in your real job:

1

Create an account with at least one AI chat tool

Pick a tool that is easy for you to access. Your goal: be able to open a chat and ask questions any time.

2

Practice using AI for simple personal tasks (5-10 minutes)

Ask AI to plan a simple daily routine, suggest meal ideas, or give you a beginner workout. Purpose: Get comfortable with typing to it.

3

Use AI once per day for a work-related task

Start with low-risk tasks you can review: drafting emails, summarizing long messages, turning notes into action items. Build the habit.

4

Create a folder for your "AI Wins"

Every time AI helps you save time or improve clarity, save a screenshot. This becomes proof and motivation you can show your manager.

5

Choose 1-2 tasks you will always do with AI first

For example: "I always draft important emails with AI" or "I always summarize long documents before reading fully."

6

Schedule 10 minutes once a week to learn one new use case

Ask AI: "How can I use AI to be more efficient as a [your job role]?" Put a weekly reminder on your calendar.

If you complete this checklist over 2-4 weeks, you'll already be ahead of many employees still waiting on the sidelines.
